Add more water and it'll make a decent lather. Don't think like huge mounds of lather like Bugs Bunny in the Rabbit of Seville, but it can get a little stiffer than most people think.
I'm actually a recent Cremo convert. A while back I posted my praises of glycerin soap. Then I decided to give Cremo a shot considering how many people say it's the slickest thing out there.
On pure performance, nothing beats it. No bells and whistles, no pomp and circumstance or fancy pants English snobbery. It's a minimalist, down in the trenches get the job done product that truly produces the closest most comfortable shave, if you have the technique for it.
Don't let the lack of lather deter you from Cremo.
Yeah, using a brush with Cremo is perhaps not how it's supposed to be used. I haven't tried using it with a brush, but I'm curious why you chose to use it with a brush?
Cremo is by far the slickest stuff I have ever used. I know it isn't supposed to be used with a brush, and that is why I didn't like it.
Not being able to whip up a nice lather takes half the fun out of shaving. It does work very well. But without the lather, it was hard to tell where I had shaved and where I hadn't.
Why use a brush? It's easier to reapply for more than one pass.
Hate to break it to you fellas..... Whether it's marketed to be brushless or not....It can and does make a decent lather. For what it's worth I use a Rooney 3/1. Put a dime size in the wet bristles, add a few drops of water then build on your face, dipping the tip in water until you have a decent lather. Do or do not, there is no try.
