Crack repair ?

I have an old Erskine brush in need of a new knot. The top past of the handle has a crack, about 3/16" long, right where the knot goes in(the usual place).
What's the best way to fix the crack, and if with epoxy, where can I get red epoxy pigment?

You should be able to mix a bit of red pigment, any red pigment into epoxy...mix up a tiny batch to test first and let it harden...you can also choose to just go with transparent epoxy...doesn't look too bad either...

I think you might be able to color the epoxy with a small amount of Testor's model paint.

That would be good, since polyester and epoxy pigments cost about $7.00+shipping.
