I have been thinking about using aftershave to scent some melt and pour soaps. I've done this before with VDH, but adding aftershave directly did not make the scent strong enough. I don't want to add too much liquid and mess up the consistency of the soap.
Is there a good way of reducing the amount of liquid in the aftershave in order to concentrate the scent? I though boiling would probably be the easiest way, but wouldn't I lose some of the fragrance that way? If it was done slowly, the alcohol should evaporate out first, right? Is there a better method?
Also, how much liquid can I safely add to the soap base?
I'd like to do this with Brut, Old Spice, Skin Bracer, and Jeris hair tonic if it makes any difference. For Brut and Old Spice, I'd start with the cologne so it would be stronger to begin with.
