What's new

C'mon Aussie! Post your Summer Down-Under shaves!

Just for the Oz blokes on B&B - while our brothers in Northern climes hunker down for Winter it's beer and barbie time for us in antipodean latitudes. Time to put the winter kit away and break out those summer items.

Today, with the temperature cracking 30deg C in Melbourne i went all-Proraso end-to-end; pre/post, green cream and AS.

So the question is; what are you reaching for in the mornings these days? Pics too if you've got 'em.

Today I'm mostly keeping warm while at home, TEa and hot chocolate, current daytime temp is a bracing -4C thats 32F I think.

Think of us back in the mother country on Christmas day wont you.

-4C is 24.8F

Christmas Day here in Oz is a little different. In our family it is usually lots of beer and other cool drinks, maybe even some Pimms No 1, cold seafood, meats and salads. Some folks will have a traditional hot lunch but where I live it is usually in the 30C to 33C (86 to 91.5) range but the humidity is usually around 80%+.

Hope you stay warm. :biggrin1:

Summer is Proraso time and I got myself a new tub following the advice in my thread here. I also picked up some Osage Rub and these are my current summer staples.

That is when I haven't been messing with the ATB6.

Sounds a lot like Christmas in Florida!

I'm a fan of the cold water shave, Proraso soap/cream and Proraso AS.

Lately I've also been using some Honey Bee lemon/lime with a black badger brush and Brut AS. The scritchyness seems to help perk me up in the mornings. While there's no kick, it smells fresh (to me anyway!)

I've not really changed my setup too dramatically, although I have recently taken delivery of a bottle of Osage Rub (thanks Mark1966) and a tube of 444 (cheers to CHSeifert) and the two of those together make a very nice menthol kick after a shave.

This week I've been messing around with the same travelling box to which Mark referred, but today's shave will likely be something from my drawer I've not used in a while.

*rummages hand in cream drawer without looking and pulls out.....eShave Orange Sandalwood cream*

There we go, not a bad choice for a warm summer day, with Tauer Orange Star to complete the whole process.

Timmy, you're really getting me excited about that Osage Rub - sounds like some good gear. And the 444 isn't something that's ever been on the radar but lately I've seen some mentions of it...

Well today Melbourne was rainy and humid and fairly uncomfortable, so for these Mesozoic climates, I drop the Proraso and switch over to Irisch Moos. There's something in the Moos that says "steamy rainforest" to me. That, and the stick gives a damn good shave.

Summer in Australia means menthol shaves for me.

Current weekday summer setup is Valobra Menthol soap, followed by Osage Rub. How awesome is Osage Rub - so cold it hurts!

Weekend shave is Ingrams lather shave cream (great methol kick), and that a/s splash with the penguin on the bottle.
