Clubman has too much alcohol. Any ideas?

I like Clubman just fine but of course they don't a balm and with that much alcohol it burns and leaves me redness. That's no good. It's not that I don't have any other alternatives but I do like that scent.

Any suggestions?

Avon wild country balm scent is almost identical to clubman and it is a balm.

Many times I back to back them, starting with wild country balm to sooth then hitting it with a splash of clubman

I add glycerine and aloe to my clubman. If it still burns you can add more witch hazel and water to it to lower the alcohol concentration.

The Avon wild country is a better option if you like the scent and want something soothing.

I like it so much that I picked up a large supply of it so that I won't run out.

Seems to be the answer to most shaving problems Turtle

It helps a little if you apply it to a very wet face (dilutes it a little), and also if you let it sit on your hands for a few seconds before applying. I like to mix some 444 to it, but I'm not sure if that reduces the alcohol burn any.

What is 444? I Only heard of 420. :)

444 comes in a very small tube, it's a portugues aftershave, kind of a gel like consistency, with menthol, glycerin, and a few other ingredients. It can be used by itself (I never do). It's pretty popular to take a pea size bit and mix it with another aftershave to add menthol and glycerin.

Yep, I do the same with all my a/s splashes. Works very well, and despite the small size of the tube, you don't need a lot each time.

I love the burn! I live for the burn! Bring on the burn!

You can also try pouring the aftershave in your hands and rubbing your hands together then letting your hands remain open in for 4 or 5 seconds before applying to your face. This lets the alcohol ease up/dry a bit and supposedly leaves more scent than alcohol.

Clubman and similar AS doesn't bother me and I actually like that burn. I did get some Ogallala bay rum cologne (the cologne, not the aftershave) on my freshly shaved neck by accident and that was more than just burn, that was fire!!

I have my Clubman on today as a matter of fact. I shaved over 7 hours ago and I'm still smooth and still smell great!!

Sir, I suggest trying to keep your face wet after rinsing and applying the lotion immediately afterwards. This will certainly reduce the burning sensation. Give it a try and see if you like it.

I always splash on regular witch hazel before the AS. That seems to reduce the burn, but that's not why I use it. I'm just in the habit of using WH. I let the WH dry, but leaving it wet may help to dilute the AS
