Closest shave

Hi,
I am a happy user of an open comb merkur+Feather. Nevertheless, I would like to get a new safety razor aiming to the closest shave ever while keeping the Feathers as my to go blade.
Should the Merkur 39C barber ole slant be my option?
Any options?

If I could only have one razor and blade combo it would be the Merkur 37C Slant with Feather blades. I would like to try the 39C because my #2 razor is a Bob's Razor Works Bull Mastiff.

I have a 39C and love it...with almost any blade. Astras and Gillette 7 O'Clock works rather well as do Feathers

Well I do not know that one, but the Fatip / Joris / Muhle R89 - old model is a heck of a shaver, very nice and very close. For old timers my choice now would be the 7 o'Clock NEW I got for Santa Claus. More smooth than my Fatip, but about as close

I go back and forth between the 37C and the 39c. I like the extra reach of the 39C, but it is easy to accidentaly put pressure on it. I really like the extra "grippy" texture on the handle of the 37C. Both give a wonderfull shave with Feathers.
