Clean DE's in the Dishwasher?

They are your razors, but Ive seen what happens to knives in the dishwasher... 
I would say no. I have some pans where putting them in the dishwasher can void the warranty. The chemicals in dishwasher soap are different and harsher than regular dish soap, they can harm certain metals. I say play it safe.

I just got a dishwasher in my new house (haven't had one in my adult life) and the thought came to mind but I would NOT do it, it will tarnish the plating.
I don't think razor manufacturers recommend that procedure. Even if we knew all finishes would be safe (we don't) it seems like mega overkill to me.
The bigger question, though, is why would one want to clean their safety razor in a dishwasher? The general public already thinks we're nuts!
Cleaning a razor quite well and making it nice and shiney just takes 30 seconds, warm water, a soft old toothbrush and a little liquid hand soap.

I wouldn't, no. And probably the dish detergent is just that, and not soap.
