Citizen Watches

What is the general consensus for Citizen? I'm in the market for a dress watch I can wear everyday at the office. I came across this

PERPERTUAL CALENDAR CHRONOGRAPH

Way under my budget coming in under 500 bucks

I have only one Citizen, the BY2000-55E, but I really like it. The titanium bracelet is really light but sturdy and solid, the lume is excellent, and uni-directional rotating bezel has absolutely no play in the movement but rotates easily.

The watch even has a feature where you can adjust the position of the date in the window so that it centers perfectly and you can also adjust position of the hand pointing to the day of the week.

My everyday wear.

Eco-Drive Solar Atomic.

Set the time zone and forget about it. Got it on sale at Costco for about $225.

I bought a used, older model skyhawk on ebay and it's still running like a champ. It's a great watch. I fly with a lot of guys that have the newer and older versions of the skyhawk and have nothing but good things to say about it. I'll be buying a newer model down the road sometime. The only downside I can find is its bulk. I would assume the quality woudl extend across the line, so find one you like and you should be more than happy.

Citizen is a diverse company and offers watches at all ranges. As a company they're like a GM of Japan. They make movements for other companies (Miyota), offer quartz, solar and automatic watches and also own Bulova. They are very popular overseas with many models that don't make it to us unless you're scouring the internet.
I have a couple of Citizens, an Eco-Drive and a automatic watch with some really neat features (hack/winding, mother of pearl dial, sapphire crystal) that was a fair deal.

I have a Citizens Eco-Drive WR100 that's been my daily watch for the past 5 years or so. I've had no issues with it at all. I'll need a new crystal soon, as it has a few scratches, but that's my own fault for not taking it off when doing auto work.

I have two Citizens watches. Both have been great. Here is a link to mine. The world perpetual atomic is awesome. What this means is all you have to do is set it to the correct time zone and it keeps up with time through radio control. Sounds like a lot that can break, I know. But I've had it a little over a year now and its worked flawlessly. This means that you don't have to update it for day lights savings or anything. It automatically knows to roll forward or back and is always the exact time.

The second Citizens I have is just a really basic eco-drive. Nothing fancy like the one above. But it too is a wonderful watch.

From what i have read, the concensus is that citizen, seiko and orient all make very good watches in this price range...add hamilton to the list if you add a couple hundred dollars.
Cheers,
Allan

I've been wearing a Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium for awhile now. Great watch IMO especially considering it has Ti case, needs no batteries and has sapphire crystal all for just under $200.

My EDC watch is a Citizen Eco-drive WR200. Great watch. No batteries, charges with the sun. Sets/adjust the time automatically. Switch between time zones. All around great watch.

That's the same one that I have. My brother also has one and when ever we get together we put them side by side and they always tick in perfect unison.

I have an Eco-Drive Titanium that is 3-4 years old and is barely worn. I had another before that one that is in storage somewhere. I must say I like the titanium for how lightweight it is. I'd buy another.

Love, love, love my Eco Drives. The first one I bought lasted about 10 years and was subjected to pretty harsh conditions. It died only because of my complete negligence. My new Eco Drive is only about a year old and it works like a champ.

Love my Red Arrows, leather strapped Skyhawk AT. Just moved back to the UK, set the time zone/city and waited for it to auto update with the time signal from Germany... awesome watch and very accurate.
