Cigar box pen case

So its a stolen idea that i stole from andy (andrew98) who stole the idea from someone. Here was his thread on it http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/338244-A-Cigar-Box-for-Fountain-Pen-Storage

I simplified mine and only made 1 layer instead of the multi-layer that andy did. I just got some 1/2 inch foam, cut it to shape and size, put that in the cigar box, then cut the tray down to size to sit on top of the foam. I also got my trays from gopen for about $7 a tray. One tray was enough for these two boxes.

Took a total of about 15 min.

Very nice...I think my next pen box might use those blue trays. My current two boxes have the light gray/beige trays...they work OK, but are a little drab. That blue really pops!

yes, that looks nice, but did you actually smoke all those cigars?
I use mine for storing my straight razor collection. Not enough pens, yet. But I should probably order another box of Macanudo's just in case.

Great looking boxes, Boris. I almost bought a very nice cigar box in an antique mall today, but I passed. In fact, I passed on shaving brushes, straights, fountain pens, pocket knives, and all sorts of other goodies. Nice antique shop, though. I may be back there on Wednesday.

I need to check out a nice cigar shop in Portland or Eugene to find some boxes for more pen boxes. I have a lot of pen slot material left. I overbought, so Dad's getting a box for his pens, too.

Naw I didn't smoke all of them. I have probably smoked more than that in the past few months. I have recently started cutting back, I was smoking 2 cigars a day at one point.

I buy enough stuff at my local B&M that if i see a box on their shelf, they just save it for me. I actually gave the white jaime garcia one to a friend, and am planning on making a couple more, one for the gf, the other for another friend of mine. Its a cheap gift to make and I think they look pretty cool.

The My Father boxes are really nice.

Lots of tobacco shops, and Pkg stores, resell their empty cigar boxes. Usually, about $2.00 a piece around here.
Oh, Pkg store = Liquor Store. Last time I was in Chicago I asked the clerks at the hotel desk for the nearest Pkg store, and they thought I was looking for a UPS shipping place...

this will make for a nice double stack, or maybe even a triple, when I smoke 'em up. The way I am going, by the time I smoke 'em, I will probably have enough pens...$_DSC2152.jpg
