Chubby companion?

Hello all,

As you can see from the post count, I'm still new to B&B. I'm also still relatively new to WS in general but I'm a serial obsessive and came up to speed pretty decently after learning all I could from Mantic's videos and local wetshavers I could find. I face lather (started that way so don't really know anything else) and currently have a Dovo in Super that came with a Vision and a 2-band Chubby #2. I'm going to give up the Dovo as I am giving up the Vision (only used the Vision for 2 weeks until I got an N code Super Adjustable). As a result, I think I need to put something else in the rotation (I know, it's just the beginning of many I'm sure). I was thinking I'd do a #3 Tulip. It's a silly and too open ended of a question to say "any recs" as I'm sure there would be 100s. So, finally, the question(s) really is/are if people think there is something better than this choice as a companion to the Chubby. Maybe one "reasonable cost" choice (Rooney or Simpson) and one similar in cost to the Tulip for a bifurcated rec in total? I really appreciate all of your help.

BTW, I'm using creams right now as I ditched my soap (long stupid story). I'd prefer brush recs that I can use with both soap & cream without too much of a learning curve. I also have a scuttle on order so that will be in use too.

A Rooney in Super or a Shavemac in finest would probably fit the bill. A Simpsons Chubby is a pretty unique brush all in so almost anything will be different to it. Another thing you could look at is a super luxurious brush like a Kent or Savile Row.

Regards Grant

After buying a Chubby 2, I went for a large Rooney Beehive. Not everyone likes that handle, but I absolutely love it. The Beehive has mostly displaced the Chubby and my Plisson 14 HMW. I still use them, but the Beehive is terrific. If you don't like the Beehive handle, try one of the other Rooney Heritage models.
