Wow. I am 30 and have never seen an Eagle with white head in my life. A rare sight and you were lucky to have a camera. :w00t:

There's one living in the golf course behind my house. The first time I saw it, my wife came running and said "There's an eagle in the back yard! There's an eagle in the back yard!" I said, "Right. You're probably just looking at a hawk."

She dragged me outside, and I saw this fairly sizeable bird perched on my fence. Just as I opened my mouth to sya "That's not an eagle", it took off, and it looked like a scene from the movie Rodan.

That's one impressive bird.

Sal, your shot reminded me of this one I got in September...

Spectacular bird and a real treat to see in the wild...

Nice, my parents used to have a bald eagle that would stalk other birds by the feeder. They are quite magnificent when seen in person.

If you have time to kill on YouTube there is some impressive video footage of an Eagle versus Goats on the side of a cliff. Amazing the lift they can generate.

Actually, there's probably more bald-headed eagles in Canada than in the lower 48.

Cool photo of a great bird.

I can say that yes there's lots here in BC, in fact I saw 3 the other day (from my office ) flying over the harbor between Downtown and North Vancouver. There's also a bunch that live in Stanley Park and attract quite a lot of tourists.
There's a place up the coast between Squamish and Whistler that is lousy with Bald Eagles http://www.brackendaleeagles.com/ they do a count every year and they number in the hundreds. It's pretty awesome to see them up close.
