Anyone bidding for this?
Did not know that, anyway a silver gillette razor is up for sale for £250.00, from 1905 though may not be on the us e bay site.
I gotcha, cheap as in "not cheap".
The only thing that amazes me more than the wild prices some people ask for on e-bay is the wild prices some people PAY on e-bay.
Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised to see a price like that, especially if it's in really really good condition. Not too many 1905's around.
The last time I checked, £250.00 isn't cheap. That is near $412.63 and I can get a plane ticket to Europe for near that price. So if a razor is that much, I'd take a trip instead.
A lot of money for a razor though it looks good i think i would be to scared to ever use it.
Then when you get here buy it
I bet I know who you are referencing to on Fleebay. I've bought a lot of my Vintage Gillettes on there. But I live 8 hours away from a city over 400k+ people. I can't drive that far just to go looking at antique places and what not. Don't get me wrong...if I was in a big city, I'd be at every antique place I could find. Even check out the garbage sales as I call them.
Sure I've paid $10 to a little over $50 for my safety razors. Someone will bid at the last second so my max bid gets eaten up like a dog chew toy sometimes. But I am happy with who I buy from as most of my razors come from the same guy. Someone I am sure will say you can buy here on the BST. My reply is that I haven't been here long enough to earn that right to utilize that part of the board. I learned to pay your dues from a cigar board so no reasoning can change my idea till I feel I've earned the right to buy here.
