Charles Tyrwhitt shirts...

Fellas-

I've recently picked up quite a few shirts (both traditional and non-iron) from Charles Tyrwhitt, which based in the UK... I've typically worn Brooks Brothers shirts, but have gotten a little bored with their styles and cut.

CT has a current sale going on where you can find shirts on sale for $40-50, which IMO is a fantastic price for a quality shirt. In addition, the choices of fabric and styles are also quite numerous.

My question is this... How is the CT brand perceived in the UK? Is it a pretty common name for clothing? The reason I ask is that some od their shirts retail for $100-150, but how can they sell them for $40/each?

What are your thoughts/perceptions?

Well I am not in the UK, but I like them. They are well made, fit well and look good. Even better, I wear an XXL, which is almost always in stock after two or three price reductions.

Generaly, think of CT as a lower mid-grade brand. Most of their stuff is made in China or some similar bastion of mediocrity, so actually Made-in-England-or-Italy stuff is pretty rare. They constantly have sales going ... constantly ... so paying more than half price is foolish.

I am actually rather fond of their sea-island quality dress shirts in the rather tent-like slim-fit.

... Even better, I wear an XXL, ...

custom title material, right there. (And for XXL, you need a lot of material. :001_rolle)

In the UK they would not be too common, as there are cheaper and just as serviceable shirts more easily available. I get office shirts by Peter England or Marks & Spencer, as would many others. The Next chain brand would also be very popular amongst those of us who have to dress for the office and also actually have to work hard when we get there:lol: .

I have three or four and one waiting in the mail as soon as I drag up there and get it. $7.95 shipping and $35-60 on-saleshirts--can't be beat.

I'm also an ex-brooks brothers non-iron slim fit wearer now that CT carries a larger selection of styles in quality non-iron slim fit shirts. I do have to go up a size in the neck for CT shirts. I've also begun buying their ties also, which seem to be a quality product. Too many bad customer service experiences at brooks brothers B&M stores.
