The soap in a bowl for 8.99 is not a bad deal. The bowl is nice.
I bought some 1752 in a bowl a couple of years ago, and now the bowl is where I keep MWF

I figured for the price I will try the Sandalwood and see just how bad it can be... I have already done expectation management and assume I will be just getting a nice wooden bowl. I did order some of the other shaving products too. Maybe they will fare better?

I am still excited to try it, their scents are always great.

I am also planning a few ideas to try and get some good use out of it (mix with AOS Sandalwood Cream or melt with another shave soap).

What are everyone's opinions on their other shave products?
Any advice on salvaging the shave soap, besides using it as a shower bar?
Any one else going to get in on the sale and test the unlathery goodness?

It's unlatherable. I've tried both the old and reformulated versions. I would say to save your money, but the bowls are seriously nice, uniquely shaped and beautifully lacquered. The soap itself is very slick but the lather does not stay on your face. Disappears in 30 seconds, leaving a slick film behind. I would say it's useful for those who have goatees and want to do hair-shaping.

That's a good deal on a bowl. If I wasn't in the 2013 sabbatical I'd snag some of those. Too bad they put that soap in them.

The bowl is great. If I were you I'd snag one at that price, and grate up the soap with a Valobra stick or something latherable and unscented.

not bad for $16 shipped including the bowl.
i would probably use the soap in the shower and put MWF in the bowl.
