Can the Blade Angle Be Adjusted on a Fat Boy?

Ok, I know that this is probably a dumb question, but with a Gillette Fat Boy technically being an adjustable, does that mean that the blade angle (30 degree angle, 45 degree angle, etc.) is able to be adjusted? I know that they have a number setting, but is that what the number setting indicates? If not, what does the number setting indicate?

Also, is a Fat Boy more aggressive than a Gillette Superspeed?

The higher the number, the larger the blade gap (distance between blade edge and safety bar), making the razor more aggressive. The blade angle doesn't change. A Fatboy is generally more aggressive than a SuperSpeed due to the increased weight of the razor and the ability to dial the razor up to be more aggressive.

There is never a dumb question. It is only dumb not to ask.:001_smile +1 above the numbers change the gap between the blade and the safety bar meaning the blade can cut more. I'm don't think it is weight but the larger gap that makes a FB more aggressive than a SS. Go check the wiki if you need to know more. :thumbup1:

it´s in German, but maybe the picture can help:

That's a great picture Achim, you can clearly see the difference the numbers make and anyone foolish enough to blast right into there first FB shave with it set to 9 will tell you! :blushing: Perhaps this could be added to the wiki?

here it´s a little bit larger:

Actually the blade angle does change a little, at least on a standard fatboy. On a red dot or a toggle that may not be the case, I don't know.

The blade angle shouldn't change since the adjuster only changes the gap from the blade to the safety bar.

Not really. It raises the point upon which the blade is bent. That affects angle.

edit: Well on second thought I think you're right. The doors are also completely closing at a higher point, so angle may not be affected at all.
