Can Anyone Help Identify This DE Razor?

I am really just looking for the approximate "era" this was used in.

Markings:

MADE IN USA
Gillette diamond trademark
REG US
PAT OFF

Interestingly there is a knurled ring marked with numbers 1-3-5-7-9 on it just below the blade housing, with an index mark on the barrel of the razor.

I got it from my grandfather and have used it numerous times--shaves extremely well!

The nicknamed Fat Boy. after it's thick handle was made 1958 - 1961. It has many fans around here. Congrats on you family heirloom.

There should be a letter and a number on the bottom plate, too. That will tell you what year and quarter the razor was made in. D is 1958, E is 1959, etc.
