C&E Brush SUCCESS!

Figured I'd start a new thread - That last advice worked famously, as well as the candlewarmer for the lather to keep warm while sitting. I got a great amount of smooth "sticky" lather.. enough to last for more passes than I cared to try for.. I did three passes on my cheeKs, N-S, W-E, E-W... Any time I try to go from S-N, it's not a good thing so hopefully when I get the good blades, that should fix that issue...

So if anyone is considering getting the C&E $35 brush, go for it.. The trick to getting a great lather (and this coming from a total newbie) is to flick the water out of the brush HARD.. Then start to swirl the brush and if nothing is happening, add 1 or 2 DROPS... That was the thing that surprised me how just adding 1 drop made such a huge difference in the equation... A splash is too much water and that yields the bubbly lather.. I should mention that I have hard water so people with softwater, maybe it's differnet..

So thanks guys for all the help!

By only using a little water to start out with seems like the best method to go with. I'll keep that in mind for my first shave.

Yes definitely,
I flicked the brush once , but hard so all the heavy water came out. When I started to swirl the cream it was pretty dry so I only added like 2 actual drops of HOT water like they said and it started lathering perfectly. If you add too much water you're @#!$ed... If I can do it, you can for sure lol

See? Not so hard.

Imagine how much sooner you would have mastered this had you not spent so much time complaining about the brush.

Just kidding.

It keeps getting better, you'll see.

Glad to hear it worked out for you! As you said, flicking the water out of the brush and then adding more as you need it drop by drop is really the way to go. It took me many days and several "practice bowls" to get it right...congrats on picking it up far more swiftly. :)
