Buying a Fatboy on eBay, what's a good price?

I have an 80s era gilette DE non adjustable and I am really eager to get an adjustable. I am limited to ebay because I cant stand to wait for 40 more days to get one on the forums! they range from 60 -120 from okay to pretty good quality. I know these are high prices, but would you call them TOO high? Is it a waste to pay that much? Thanks in advance.

Can I still ask members to buy their goods though? Also, I know people are buying them more than they are worth so I am trying to get an estimate on how much they are worth and I can go up from there.

Yes, you can respond to any for sale ad in the BST forum. Use the PM (personal message) system to contact the seller directly.

Here are the BST rules if you want to read them: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/249294-Everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-B-S-T

You pretty much have to be johnny on the spot to get any of the great deals as most of the uber deals are sold within the first 60 seconds of being listed

Sold eBay auctions will give you an idea of selling price (link in my first response goes directly to sold fat boy razors)

There is one that looks to be in good shape for 110 shipped. If 50-70 is the norm, Maybe 110 isn't so bad?

If 50-70 is considered the norm now you don't have to worry about competing against me. My mint Fat Boy was a lucky find at an antique store for $25. I don't think I would go over $50 even if it was in the original case and was perfect. Patience and BST is the answer to all "what should I spend?" questions.

But like turtle said you have to buy within 60 seconds or else you lose. I checked antique shops and nobody has fat boys. Maybe when eligible I can post a WTB post. So I guess ill skip on the ebay and wait til the 50 day/50 post thing to do so.. Damn, this is gonna be a long few weeks :(

Turtle did say you don't have to wait the 50 days to respond to a for sale ad though.
I was patient enough and picked one up on the BST in a case for a lot less than one would go for on ebay.
They are a great razor

You want to make sure you play by the BST and "want to buy" rules but you can mention in your posts or signature line that you are looking for a Fat Boy. Maybe a member here will see it and contact you.

Thanks for that info, will do that very soon. Don't feel like navigating to that, I'm dying for a nap right now haha.

Several months ago purchased a Fatboy for $25 and a slim for $10 at a local Antique Mall. Did not even dicker. Also got a Hull Pottery OS mug for $5. The Shave gods were with me that day. Both razors were in what I consider to be excellent condition, No cases but no brassing or lose of paint. Use them both. The OS mug is in my collection.

That's way out of the realm of reality unless it is NOS (unused with blades and instructions). I sold a cased one on BST for less than $60 not too long ago. If you are not interested in a case you can cut the price way down. Cases have a tendency to get lost or broken as they are just plastic and getting pretty old now.
