Buying a Briefcase Off the Internet

I've never owned a briefcase before so I don't know what measurements would suit me. I know that I need something large enough to fit a laptop, two one-inch thick books, and gadgets. Should I go to a store to get an idea of the sizes then come back to the internet or is there a standard measurement for large briefcases? Thanks.

A briefcase is a hugely personal item, complicated by the use to which it will be put.

Buy yourself an inexpensive yet conservative messenger bag until you know what you will need.

When certain what will go into it, go ahead and buy the nicest one you can justify, it will last a lifetime.

You will always find a use for the messenger bag afterward.

You’ll find briefs made to accommodate different laptop sizes. For example, if your laptop is 15”, you should look for bags that fit 15” laptop screens. This information is usually given under product specifications. You can check out product specifications for other details also before ordering a brief online. For your requirements, you can pick a brief from Briggs & Riley’s laptop briefs collection (http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/group.aspx?cat=laptop-briefs). You can choose from a wide variety of rolling, expandable, and slim briefs. All of these briefs have a multiple section design to hold a laptop, files, gadgets, peripherals, and stationery.
