Budget pipes

Just wondering what you all would consider a decent budget churchwarden. Also I have an interest in trying a cheap clay pipe...any thoughts?

I have a Mr Brog Churchwarden, and it's "okay", but no complaints for the price. Smokes dry, decent draw, but I don't find myself reaching for it much for no particular reason that I can figure. Maybe I'll go smoke it now...

I'm still a noob but...Missouri Meerschaum, no? Available for under $10 bucks, they smoke decently and if you wish them to last a long while, you can buy a Forever stem.

Edit...upon re-read, i didn't see they asked for a churchwarden. :a52: But i still think you can buy a Forever churchwarden stem for a MM pipe

Smoking it now with some McClelland Frog Morton on the Town, and it's a nice smoke. As I said before, nice and dry, cool, more than decent draw upon second consideration. So, I'll throw a hat in the ring for the Mr Brog #14 Churchwarden for a respectable budget Churchwarden.

I think Mr. Brog is your best option. I have read a lot of great reviews on their stuff and people seem to love the pipes. Clay pipes are super cheap, you can usually get them in the basket. I really like my clay pipe because it doesn't ghost so I like to use it when I try out new tobaccos.

I've been curious about church warden pipes but haven't wanted to splurge. I figure the next time I take a pipe in for a new stem I'll have the shop guy fit both long and short stems so I'll have a "convertible" church warden.

There are cheap Mr. Brog Chruchwardens out there. I believe last time I say a #14 on ebay it was around $20. It doesn't get much more budget than that.
