Brush Stand

Does anyone know where to get a good, solid brush stand that would hold multiple brushes? I currently have 3 brushes and have read storing them on the base is not good for them. Anybody that can point me in the right direction would be great.

Capillary action, it doesn't matter if the bristles are up or down. So the stand isn't needed. Rinse the brush well with the water from the tap. Give it a gentle shake to get the excess water out. Then take a towel and brush the tips against it. Leave the brush out in the open to air dry.

Mantic59 has youtube video about it.

I use a stand, but it probably isn't necessary. Some manufacturers recommend it and some don't. It can't hurt to use one.

You can make one from a piece of architrave moulding if you have any woodworking skills. I prefer the traditional materials to the plastics and metals. Put some stain on it and you have a nice bespoke stand.

I know in the DIY section, someone glued some velcro onto the bottom of their brush, and the bottom of their cabinet, and stuck it up to dry. I thought that was a pretty cool idea. You may not wish to do that to your brushes, but its an idea if you can't find a stand you like. YMMV

or you can go with some small earth magnets a similar sized drill bit and a steady hand... Or be creative, I've not seen any multi-brush stands. You could use a stamp rack,(think postoffice) or check Ikea's kitchen catalog, I'm sure something can be modified simply

Assuming you shave with one brush at a time, there will always be one wet brush that needs a stand. After you shave, set the brush onto the stand till next day. Assuming you do not use the same brush every day, the next day remove the brush from the stand and put it on its base. Shave with the brush you want and then set it onto the stand till the next day. Repeat.
This way you only need one stand.
I believe it is beneficial to use a brush stand between shaves.

For storing brushes that are in rotation and waiting for their turn, I use acrylic stands mounted under the shelf:

For resting the brush to dry after the shave and till next day, I use a wire stand (PartNumber RHM5 , EJ or Muhle). If you read this in time and still interested, The English Shaving Company has a Free Shipping Worldwide sale and they have EJ chrome brush stands. It is the cheapest I know of and coupled with EJ soaps till you hit the free shipping limit makes a nice addition to your den.
