Brush Recommendation

I had been using an Omega boar (the one in the kit with Omega soap and stand) for couple months now. Had been totally satisfied with until I recently tried the Tweezerman badger. I had followed the suggestion of leaving the badger with lather over night (did that a few times) to make it softer.
Now going back to the Omega I feel something missing. Here are the qualities I like/dislike in both:

Omega - Love how soft it feels; Dislike the length of the brush hair (little too long) and not much backbone.
Tweezerman - Love the size and the lather making ability (cannot exactly point what I like here); Dislike how scritchy it is (is that the term to tell it feels harsh on the face?). Omega feels so soft to the face but the Tweezerman just hurts.

What brush would you recommend for me?
Is a Semogue 620/610 a good choice? (I have these but haven't used them yet).
Thanks!

Thanks Unadan. I keep hearing members rave about the SOC brush.

I guess my question is which brush (any type) can be close to a Tweerzerman's lather making ability and size BUT softness of a boar. Budget would be $50.

Badger brushes are generally considered to be softer than boar. IDK what kind of brush the Tweezerman is but it probably isn't the greatest if you have a boar brush that's softer.

For your budget, I would recommend the following-

Badger- Simpson Berkley or get a TGN Finest or Grade A Silvertip knot set into a custom handle.

Board- Semogue 610 or 620. I have both and once they are broken in, are wonderful, though I find the badgers hold more lather.

I would recommend the Omega Chub: http://www.shoeboxshaveshop.com/omega-10051--chunky-chub--available-in-three-c10051.html . The loft is short and the knot is dense, providing a very scrubby yet pleasant face-lathering experience.

Either of your Semogue brushes fit the bill. My preference would likely be the 620.

Once broken in, your boars will hold as much lather as your badgers.

Try the Semogues if you have them!
If you want a luxurious badger 2-band for face-lathering, consider a Wet Shaving Products Prince 2-band. Great brush.

WOW....you either really love your WSP brushes or are getting commission on these things :001_rolle

OP...you already have 2 nice Semogues, unused. Start lathering them, break them in and put them to use. that's my suggestion.

Yes, I agree. I will begin to use the brushes I have on hand rather than being afflicted with SBAD. RAD is quite enough
Thank You all.
