Brush question

I have 2 WSP Prince silvertips, the 2 band and 3 band purchased on BST for a combined $60. They both whip up great lather on soaps and creams with minimal effort, and both have very soft tips. I see people spending $100 and well beyond on brushes, is there really a significant difference? Outside of Elizabeth Hurley lathering my face, I can't imagine it getting better than my Prince's, what am I missing?

I was just coming to ask this very same question. The Simpson sickness in particular I don't get. Of course I have never held one, let alone used one. What makes them worth $150-$250? Is part of it just the name brand thing?

For example, One can get TGN's most expensive High Mountain White know for around $60 and a handle for 20. Is there really that big of a difference in performance between a brush like that and a simpson?

I've recently purchased a Simpson super and I can say that I'm not disappointed despite the high price tag. Compared to an AOS pure badger if is definitely worth the extra dough. Never used TGN so I can't make that comparison.

What I have is working, so maybe I should avoid trying one so I don't know what I'm missing. Or maybe it could be a Christmas present someday.

If you don't understand the sickness I warn you not to expose yourself to the virus. Do not under any circumstance hold one in your hand without wearing heavy insulated gloves and under no circumstances allow the tips of the knot to touch the skin....... especially not to brush against the face. Exceptional quality can be highly contagious. Good luck with your shaving health.

Chubbys sell for 125-350$ because you can't buy brushes that dense for less than that. If anyone knows where to get a brush as dense as a chubby 1 for less than the cost of a chubby 1, as someone who's owned maybe 50-75 shaving brushes, I'd love to know.

The rest of simpsons lineup? Not sure. I only ever bought chubbies and their cheaper brushes (most expensive nonchubby I remember buying from Simpson was a Duke which was a bit of a disappointment (had been told they were as dense as chubbies... they were not).)
