Brush for MWF

I have a Caswell-Massey bristle and boar combo brush that has never been a favorite of mine but won't part with it since it was part of a gift package from my oldest son. Well, I have found that is a perfect brush for MWF. The bristles in it are stiffer than my badger brushes and do an exceptional job with MWF. :001_smile

The brushes that give me an incredibly good lather with MWF are my Semogue SOC and my Simpson Colonel X2L Best. :thumbup1:

Rooney 1/1, the new Stubby XL and my Shavemac flattop, a good fan shaped brush will tackle MWF.

Jim sounds like a real winner.... I was surprised how well in the past a Kent BK 4 and a huge Vulfix #41 did a very nice job with MWF... ( and all soaps for that matter).

My Simpson Ehsan creates an incredible amount of lather when using MWF and has very soft tips.

I have both of these brushes and agree that they both are great soap brushes that work very well with MWF. I have never had a problem with MWF which I am sure is a direct result of the quality of our water.

Best regards,

Doug

I use a medium Edwin Jagger Super badger or a silver Tip all work fine. I would say go with a stiff brush if the options is the one that you enjoy.

Hi Jim,
I have several brushes...some are floppy, have softer tips than others and some have stiff backbone. I have found them all great for MWF (or any other soaps for that matter). ALl my brushes and MWF get along well

Absolutely agree - I have no problem lathering MWF with any of my brushes. I think that water quality is the essence of a good lather.

I find only 'firm' bristles work for me on MWF. Either a Semogue 1305 or my 'Douglas' perform best on the soap. My Kent BK8 and others like it, were rubbish.
