British products

I will soon be leaving the UK and I was thinking that perhaps I shouldn't leave without buying a few classic British shaving products. Now I know there is already tons of info in the forum, and I saw a few brands come back a few times - for example Taylor of Old Bond Street - but there is simply too much for me to digest before I leave! So I need your help!

What are the classics I should not leave the UK without? I'm thinking mostly shaving creams and aftershaves - not so interested in buying a new razor or brush so soon into wet shaving.

Thanks for the help!

I'm off to Korea. Of course I'd be happy to get recommendations for Korean products, but I suppose I have a better chance with British ones . And I will have time to figure things out regarding Korean products also.

Geo F. Trumper, Truefitt & Hill, Erasmic, Czech & Speake.

All of these!

It has been years since I was in London, but I would suggest you take a walk down Jermyn street (near green park?) and just stop in the shops you find. There will be inspiration in spades.

At least it seems that all the good stuff is located in the same area. That's going to be convenient. Are there particular products from those brands that can be considered like their "signature" products or something?

TOBS and Geo F. Trumper shaving creams; especially the lavender and rose scents. You will not be disappointed.

Palmolive shave stick, Boots shave stick, Erasmic shave stick. GFT, TOBS, D.R. Harris, Penhaligons should go with you. I don't think there's much in Korea so I would recommend stocking on those or be prepared to buy online.

Trumper's coconut oil cream
Truefitt & Hill creams (pick a scent you like as the performance is equal across the board)
European Palmolive shave stick (cheap where you are but almost imposable to find elsewhere, get several)

Mitchell's wool fat is a great soap, i know you said creams but this stuff is great. Also you can pick up a Palmolive shave stick in most supermarkets for 50p, even though its really cheap its a good one to try, lathers up really easy.

A couple of lesser known products are The Bluebeards Revenge and Arran Aromatics. Both based in Scotland, so i know it's not exactly British but they are amazing products and easily available. BR from Amazon and Aromatics from Executive Shaving. Edwin Jagger and Kent also make some soaps but I haven't tried them.

Blue beards revenge is just rebranded MWF... as is Kent luxury soap :)

Really? Only if you think British = English.

DR Harris. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this.

That is the one. Soaps and shaving creams are top notch and their after shaves are very good as well.

Do yourself a favour and grab a handful of Palmolive shave sticks at Boots as well- one of the greatest values in shaving.
