Bodum French press problem - help needed

I have a Bodum 'Crema' french press like the one below. The problem is that I just can't get the glass cylinder out of the holder. It sits so tightly in the holder that I just can't get it out. Is this a common problem? And, does anyone have a solution? I tried running cold water and dish soap over it but that did not work. Suggentions are highly appreciated, thanks!

I would think that cold water would only make the problem worse. Plastic is much more malable than glass and temperature affects it's pliability and expansion much more than glass. I would think a bath in a nice, hot bath would do much better to expand the plastic and hopefully loosen it's grip on the glass carafe.

I was having the same problem over the holidays. I ran the bottom under warm water and soaked it in dawn soap for a few minutes. Then I gently pushed up from the bottom and the glass slid out very easily.
