Birth-Year Gillette search question....

So I got a look at the ShaveWiki page for Gillette dating codes. I was born in 1984 (let the jokes begin), in May, so my code is E-2. However, someone born in May of 1959 is also an E-2. How do I tell the difference?

In looking at the wiki page it seems different kinds of razors were made at different times.......however I'm new here and don't understand it all, so I'm not sure what I'm doing. How might I tell the difference between the 1984 gillete E2 and the 1959 E2? The answer probably lies on the right side of the shavewiki chart I assume, for instance does that chart indicate tht the black handle super speed and super adjustable were the only ones made in 1984?

Ish. There were others (like my G1000 from 1989... must find...) that are not in the chart but the most common razors you'll find for your year will probably be the ones you've mentioned.

You got it, an 84 will have a black handle, a 59 will not

I gather the 1984 Gillette list is: Super-Adjustable with plastic plate, black handle Super-Speed, Slim Twist, G1000
