Big Aussie-only lot on the 'Bay - an ID to sate my curiousity?

This auction just ended - Australian postage only. Unfortunately I missed out on this one by a few dollars, would have been a very, VERY nice haul to have snaffled up.

Anyhow, looking for an ID on the Hexagonal-handled razor. It's bottom-centre of that pic above, or:

Anyone with ideas of what it might be, I am all ears. I'm not that long into DE and my knowledge isn't fantastic on the 'rarer' razors out there. That one however did catch my eye.

And so did the perfect paint on the Red Tip, and the Mk.II (British?) Adjustable, and the complete Fatboy with all the bits of paper, and THAT traveller....

Any idea on how much it went for?

Aussie and Yankee are about equal now. The auction closed at $337 Aussie which is is literally somewhere between $320 and $330. Back when we would get 65c exchange rate, the equivalent $330 would have been $500 Aussie.

Would I be right that the Gold Traveller alone probably would sell on the 'Bay (in a worldwide auction) for closer to USD$200?

Meanwhile, I'm stocking up on everything I can get my hands on - blades, soaps, razors. Bought over 1000 blades in the last month alone - need to make the most of the good exchange rates.

Anyhow, I have got soooooo of track and it is 1am here on Tuesday - ANY IDEA ON THAT HEXAGONAL RAZOR?

The gold traveller would maybe get $200 in an auction setting but they mainly go for around $85 - $150 depending on quality.

My guess is that the Hexagon razor is just a generic German Made. I highly doubt that is a Gillette. No real value to it.

The items in there that are the most valuable are:

The Fatboy set in the back right
The Single ring in the White/Cream color case
The Aristocrat Jr. in the blue case on the right in the middle

Just those 3 razors make the set worth over $300

What do you think of both sets going to auction as a single lot? I'm just trying to work out what the whole lot might go for - I'm thinking the lucky bidder paid less than 50% market value.

I didn't think it a Gillette, but I absolutely had no clue what it actually is either. Only liked it for the fact it is quite different to what I normally see and was curious.

Doubted it to have much value.

I totally agree with you about the person buying the lot for 50% less than market value. There is a lot of great razors in that lot. I am surprised that it only went to $300. If that auction was available to everyone it would have hit $500 at least.
