Fake Chinese Shavemacs have been spotted by myself and a few other members. I've been in touch with Bernd and he has put a message on his website on how to spot them. Please read before buying!

Are these being sold on eBay or through someone else like a vendor?
IIRC, we had a thread started by the counterfitter in question posted here in the recent past. No surprise that he was a new member.

Don't know where they are being sold but ebay is the first place I'd expect.
Hopefully we've got in before the counterfeiter has managed to offload any though I would expect non B&Bers could be fooled by them, not having the benefit of this warning.

Sorry, didn't know Tom had put the new page from Shavemac up as well. We've both been in contact with Bernd and each other over it but I've not long come in from a gig and found a mail from Bernd about it asking me to put it on the forum.

I just saw a post over at shavemyface that may be related to this. A new member posted on the site's BST mentioning he made his own brushes...but had a picture of a Shavemac. The mods have deleted the member's posts so I cannot confirm they were trying to sell the pictured "Shavemac" or if it just happened to be in the photo.
I have heard of Chinese fake Rolexes and stuff, but shaving brushes? Are people that desperate for money?

Sounds like the same Chinese seller. They (SMF), like here on B&B, have deleted the original thread which had all the evidence Bernd needs to persue this.
Great work on this, Gareth. I did not read your original post thoroughly enough to recognize you were the one that spotted this to begin with. (I posted Bernd's link at SMF, but did not give you proper credit.) If they are going after Bernd, I wonder if there are "Simpsons," "Rooneys" and who knows what else floating around out there....
I'm quite sure the PTB (powers that be) would be able to undelete the evidence if required to do so. I'm sure the mods dont use military grade delition software to remove a post. Rest assured B&B will not have helped these guys escape justice that is if anyone can make a case against them. The last guy I saw extradited from China came back via bat man
