Best wiper blades ?

After much research I found that OEM is best. Some of the aftermarket blades just don't contour correctly for the windshield in question and OEM should work perfectly.. but then I have an LS430.

I have tried the more expensive wiper blades and honestly do not see a point. Rain-X Latitude, for example, are certainly better, but they tend to start streaking after two years. Inexpensive brands, such as the $5 knockoff brand that Walmart sells, tend to hold up well for six months to a year. Since Rain-X Latitude blades cost $20 a piece and last two years, I could replace those $5 knockoff ones every six months and break even. I would rather do that.

I do prefer Rain-X's wiper fluid, though. The 2-1 (the orange one) they sell does an excellent job.

Down here in Florida it doesn't seem to make much difference. 6mths is avg and some folks suffer out to about a year

I usually replace blades every 6 months. OEM is always fantastic. Currently I have Michelin hybrid blades that look more like contour but have some metal structure under their plastic covering. Prior blades were OE style Bosch (regular metal frame), so far the Bosch metal frames worked better. OE blades were sufficient but on newer cars those OEM contour blades always seem to work extremely well.

I have used many aftermarket blades. They all last about the same. I only buy Anco nowadays. Cheap and widely available. I tend to replace my blades every 6-8 months.

I generally go with Rain-X weatherbeaters for our cars and replace them every year. I don't have a garage and wipers never last more than a year. I tried some from Costco once (Good Year?), but really hated those. I will occasionally have Honda replace them on my wife's Odyssey if it's going in for service and she tells me beforehand that she needs wipers.

I just bought Duralast brand for both of my family's cars while I was at the auto parts store buying a battery. I'll put the wiper blades in this weekend. Hope they are good.

I go with OEM first, Bosch second. I despise Rain-X as on my last car it left some kind of film that caused smearing during light rain that lasted for years until the car got totaled in an accident. On windows without wipers, it might be worth it. Or sideview mirrors.

With some parts for my car I go OEM, but not wiper blades. I've tried many brands of wiper blades over the the years and have found that they all fail at the same rate of time. I get the cheapo anco blades at walmart and replace when needed. Hot summers and freezing winters here. ymmv.

Thus far the best I have ever used is BOSCH, I usually get about 6 months out of a set due the the So. Cal heat. So I broke down and bought a set of the BOSCH blades and yea that was about 18 months ago and they still wipe like the day I put them on.

I used to go with Porsche OEM blades but recently heard they were manufactured by Bosch. I bought a pair of Bosch at about half the cost of the Porsche blades, and they appear to be identical to those I replaced (only new, of course!).

I find the cheap pliable ones do quite well, especially when coupled with some windshield coating like Rain-X. One hardly needs to use the wipers after a good coating of windshield treatment, even more so if the windshield is relatively new and scratch free. What the wind doesn't blow off, a basic wiper blade will handle.

I got 2 years out of my last Trico blades( the more expensive ones, not their cheap ones) so I bought the same when I replaced them. Cheap blades I seemed o get 6 months out of when I had my Civic. Rain-X and Bosch seemed to last longer.

My Jeep has only had the Trico. I've been happy with them.

I installed a pair of Michelin blades today, they were surprisingly cheap, and rated well.$15 bucks a pair (20" & 22"),so if I get a year out of them I will be satisfied...

Weather si...rain,no !...In northern California we have had very little rain for 2 years, and the last 10 years have seen a few droughts..

Just want to add to this post that in my first years of driving ,1963 to the 80's,when our blades wore out we replaced the blades, the rubber strips, not the entire arm assembly. What a waste of materials, and a waste of landfill space throwing out a perfectly good arm, when all it needs is the rubber strip, this is a money maker for the manufacturers, but another death blow to the planet ,and needless waste of cash for the consumer...
