Best Synthetic Brush ( for money )

Gentlemen,

It has been a while since I have posted and just wondered if anyone might recommend a nice synthetic shave brush. I have one badger and I like it, but would like something else and wondered about synthetic brushes.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

i have a little EJ synthetic travel brush...and at first i was disappointed because it was clumpy and didn't want to splay. it did however, make the lather.

now, as i've used it...it has bloomed and turned into a ferocious lather machine. i guess i never thought about nylon needing to break-in, but it certainly does. it's also super soft.

it makes me want a full-sized jagger now....especially considering that while boar can perform well, it still feels like straw to me, and where's the fun in that?

To the OP, if you want a synthetic that is the best bang for your buck, you can't hardly go wrong with The Body Shop's synthetic. There are much better brushes, but their brush has one of the best cost/benefit ratios for sure.

You, my friend, have never owned a great boar brush...

I had a very long chat with the boss at TOBS, he was interested to tell me loads because of my blog.
With their synthetic brush he said they went to a lot of trouble to find the technology that would be soft like a badger at the tips and would retain a lot of water. Each hair in the brush is crimped along it's length, massively increasing the surface area and giving the water a more convoluted path out.

the semogue SOC and 1305 are considered great brushes and i own/have owned both

i just don't find them to feel as nice as either badger or synthetic. the bristles are thicker, coarser and don't hold the heat particularly well. it's just not as nice an experience (YMMV of course)
