Morning all,

I would like you opinion. What would be the best shave soap (or creme) for oily skin. I almost never need a moisturizer. Thanks.

Regards,

Hi,
Here is some for oily skin,
Dove Sensitive Skin Foaming Facial Cleanser
Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
Olay Definity Pore Redefining Scrub
Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cleanser, Oil Free

A traditional shaving soap, enriched with a complex of purifying and stimulating Cade essential oil, anti-drying cold cream and macadamia nut oil for a comfortable and smooth shave. The choice of the proper shaving cream or soap can make the difference between a very good shave and a terrible irritating shave.

I have very oily skin, so oily that I typical wash my face a couple more times a day because my eyes are burning. I use a wide variety of soaps and creams and I haven't had a problem in my complexion that I remember. Is there a specific concern you have with the moisturizing quality of soaps and cremes.

The most moisturizing soap I use would be my vintage Old Spice and the cream would be Castle Forbes or maybe The Body Shop. Now I do stay away from all the pre-shave oils but I truly believe I just don't like how oily they feel and how they adhere to my razor not that they will cause any problems for my skin.

I have a pretty oily skin myself.
What I've found so far :
- When I'm over with he few tubes of creams left, I'll stick with soaps only, they make my skin feel better than creams.

- After the shave, I use almost exclusively splashes, no more balms.

- Most of the soaps are good for oily skin. Even if scents are supposed to make differences between them (lime for oily skin, lavender for dry skin...), I'm not sure of that at all. I use lime and sandalwood and don't encounter any issue.

- Some ingredients like tallow or lanolin have been reported by some people to create skin problems, or on the contrary to improve the skin quality. Then, on this matter YMMV, I don't use lanolin but never had problems with tallow if I rinse it thoroughly.

So honestly, I think you can go with pretty much any of the beloved soaps of this forum, but beware of the lanolin or tallow ones, it is possible (but not guaranteed) that your skin breaks out. Just try !!!

Stuff with tea tree oil, lavender, lemon, rosemary, grapefruit or eucalyptus tend to be very drying for my skin so that might work for you. Lavender is great for balancing oily skin but over time it might get too drying so best to switch it up with something less drying.

You may want to try the Kiss My Face olive oil soap with Lavender. It's a fine product and can be had for about $2 a bar... lasts long too.
