I'm still a newbie with a grand total of four razors, two soaps and a whole drawer full of different brands of blades. After hanging around a bit I decided to stick with a single razor, blade and soap to build my experience and technique before testing the other options I have. Couldn't do it....just had to try something new after about two weeks. I threw a Shark in my Red Tip, lathered up with my standard soap (VDH puck) and cracked open a new tester AS (Citrus Musk). Wow! Best shave yet....wasn't perfect, had a weepers and still had a tiny strip of stubble under the right chin line but what a great shave. It may not be the best I will ever have and I'm not saying its the perfect combo of equipment, but it was the best I've had yet.
Now that I've satiated the desire to incorporate something new....back to the practice repetitions. I think I'll keep both razors in a rotation just to keep things fresh.
On to the next shave....
