Is there a razor that would make it easy to shave when one has loose skin with lots of wrinkles? I’m talking about folks in their 80s and 90s. Would something like a Gillette Skin Guard razor help? Does going electric help?
I might try a vintage adjustable Schick injector, the ones with a dial (type M, IIRC). You would need to do some skin stretching to smooth out the skin and take short strokes.
+1! You beat me to it! For me the key is ‘skin stretching,’ ‘bullfrogging’ (filling cheeks with air), etc, to straighten my skin to assure a relatively flat surface for the razor.
Check out "Billy Hukin's" shaving documentary from a family of famous razor craftsmen.
He was in his eighties at the time and his face was lined with wrinkles, but he only used a straight razor and a little frog blowing technique without even stretching the skin.
So my take on this is "take the time to get used to whatever tools you have, get familiar with your face, and gradually improve your technique".
I have a friend who has a young, smooth face, but he cuts himself even using an electric razor or cartridge.
Sir anoop, any good quality cart razor with tilting head will be good.
Of course, stretching; touching alum block with finger tips is excellent for this!
(I can speak, also, as someone very aged and with, sadly, sagging skin!)
If high efficiency is required, I'd suggest the blackbird. It has a big exposure which provides high efficiency, but the gap is tiny and will prevent skin getting caught in it.
