Best of the Three T's

Obviously, everyone has their preference, and I've seen threads about TOBS v. T&H, etc.

But in comparing GFT, T&H, and TOBS creams (price notwithstanding), who wins?

Feel free to also include ASBs, skin food, etc.

I've sampled all three, and CF, and honestly can't make up my mind. I think I've had less weepers with GFT Sandlewood cream and Sandlewood skin food.

Well the products are not the same price and in England the home market for the soaps, GFT is significantly more expensive and in my opinion deserves the extra price. The soaps are richer and better quality scents are applied to their products. In addition GFT's skin food is just a delight to use in cold dry conditions. A true life saver.

In John Lewis stores you can buy a soap that is similar if not identical to the T&H soap for £2.10. I think it's a really good soap, but not quite as good as GFT

The TOBS products are often sold at half price in TK Max. I think all the scents they use are cheap and very false. I actually think by comparison, the product is of a lesser quality and relatively expensive for the quality you get.

T&H is the best value without doubt if you like the smell of lavender. Even if you buy the real branded stuff.

I've shaved with all 3 using both soaps and creams. I've been to each of the stores several times (St James's in London), spent some serious cash and did a lot of talking to the sales people. Also have been to DR Harris, but have only used their soaps.

I would rank them GFT-DR HARRIS-T&H-TOBS

GFT soaps, creams and skin food all smell and perform so much better in my opinion that the extra cost is worthwhile.

As ever, my opinion only

Love Trumpers. Skin food is very good (though Baxter's Oil Free Moisturiser is very good as a gentle aftershave too), as is their Coconut Oil and Violet shave creams.

Eucris by Trumper is classic elegance defined.

Taylors... smell fantastic. I personally haven't had the best shaves from them though.

Truefitt: Never got around to trying them, being so damn brand loyal to the GFT. Keep wondering when I am going to give them a go.

I've never tried T&H.

I love both Trumper and Taylor. If I had to rank them, I'd go Trumper, then Taylor. But I wouldn't go without either.

I will have to give T&H a shot sometime--for some reason though, I've never really been drawn to any of their products, and I"m not sure why that is.

consistently, I would go with T&H. i have tried most of their flavors and the product stays the same (very good) with only a change in scent.

I can not say this about TOBS or GFT. with that said, both of these companies offer creams I feel are superior to T&H. TOBS- avocado and GFT-cocoanut.

As a general performer (the line as a whole) though, I think T&H is the most consistent brand.

Sticking with only those 3 creams, I feel that GFT and T&H are about equal in lather quality, with TOBS just a bit behind. However, I did not like any of the GFT scents. I love T&H Trafalgar as something a little different, but TOBS Sandalwood is my everyday favorite.

T&H for me easily beats TOBS and GFT, Trumpers is an "ok" cream but TOBS just dosen't have the lubrication that the others have.

Flavors? Are you eating it?

For me it all depends on what variety you are using.

For example, TOBS Mr Taylor cream gives me a better shave than GFT Sandalwood however Mr Taylor cream is beaten by GFT Rose cream.

Still to try T&H however the fact that T&H is now the only one of the 3T's that I can still buy at a bricks & mortar store means that I'll probably be giving some of their creams a lathering soon.

So far, I hav eonly used Trumper's Sandalwood Shave Cream and so far, I'm not very impressed with it. I don't see what the big deal is over it and after this scent is done, I'm either going to switch to the Trumpers Extract of Limes scent or Trumpers Coconut Oil scent...or I may even just switch to a totally different shave cream.
