Indeed Timmy, indeed. The last thing I would ever want to sniff again is a modern 'fresh' fragrance. I would give any of the others a whirl simply because of their quirkiness.

Burberry London and Brit and John Vavatos Vintage are my daily drivers in the Fall/Winter. Really digging Terre D'hermes and Tom Ford Extreme right now.

Dave, I agree totally. Burberry London is a great fall scent. Right now, I'm really liking Gucci by Gucci. It has a fresh cedar opening with a smooth spicy feel that lasts through the whole breakdown. It's a fragrance that goes well with many aftershaves and works in professional or casual settings.

Having no advertisers to endorse, but one Azzaro does make my regular fall rotation:
APH. The rest include:
John Varvatos Vintage
Bleu de Chanel
Eau Sauvage Parfum
Quorum

And a couple of guilty pleasures, Red Lacoste 12.12.12 because the red tea and wood feels fallsish to me and English Leather which smells like a comfortably worn baseball mitt on a foggy Saturday morning.

I've never tried any of the ones mentioned. They seem a bit pricey for me to try and have my wife not like them. Who and where if possible sells samples of cologne? My wife has mags that have the scratch off. Thanks.

My defaults for this fall are Burberry London (which I see others also appreciate) & a new favorite: The Motley's Atlas. (I also like the personalized tin that The Motley does for Atlas. Very nice touch.)
