Best Disposable?

What disposable has given you the best, consistent shave? Looking for something cheap while I'm away from the house. Gillete Mach, Fusion, BICS? Suggestions welcome.

See if you can find the Lord disposable razor. It came free with their emofresh cream. I gave it to a visiting friend who'd forgotten his razor at home and he absolutely loved it.

Disposable Perma-Sharp blade in any razor. Or just angle it right and slide it across your face if you're really adventurous.

Gillette blue 2 or Bic Sensitive, or Tesco (uk) store brand blue twin blade razors, made in Isreal, the latter cost 25pence for 10 ! Thats forth razors for £1.00

"The only GOOD disposable is a DEAD disposable!"

Seriously, I used Trac2s for years and probably still would if Gillette had not discontinued manufacturing the handles and jacking up the cart prices. I still have quite the stash of Trac2 carts but my Wife has been the only one to use any of them for the last year.

If I "had to" go back to carts I would probably try to go back to Trac 2s. Straights and DEs are much better options though!

Gillette Guard seems like a good option

+1

The Guard is a great option. The Italian Barber sells the razor and the refills (but they're out of both right now). Otherwise there's seller's on Ebay. I think I bought 2 razors and 14 refills for $10 or $11 shipped. It came from India, though, so it took a while.

The Guard makes a BBS a no-brainer. It's so easy to get a great shave with one that it makes a great travel razor, when your shaving setup might not be optimum.

I bought a pack of 12 Shopko brand knock-offs of the orange handled Bic Sensitive disposables and use them when I travel. Not too bad, actually, for under $2.

When I was a teenager (mid 1980's) a cousin of mine gave me a no-name disposable that he bought at a military PX while on base. The shave was so great I started searching for the equivalent razor in the store. The closest I could come was the Gillette Good News Twin Blade.

Whenever I can't use my normal shaving gear, I still use Good News....usually with bar soap.

Definitely the blue 2/ good news for me - I think they're better than most of the generic/ store brand trac ii carts I've tried, and they seem to last a long time without becoming uncomfortable.
I really tried to love the bic sensitives, but they never really got close enough for me.

I have more experience with the BIC Metal and like them a lot, but two of the best shave I have ever gotten with any razor have nee with the BIC Sensitives.
