Best Brush for Arko

I currently own only two brushes (probably shouldn't have said that out loud), one is the VDH badger, and the other is a Parker boar brush. I've smashed some Arko into one of my mugs, since I prefer that to using it in stick form. It seems like neither one of my brushes work well with it. The boar doesn't hold enough water (it's still fairly new, might need more break-in time), and the badger doesn't have enough backbone to load up very well. I've had that problem with it on other hard soaps as well.

What brush works well for you, using Arko in the manner I've described?

Face lathering Arko with almost any brush works well.
Try gradually working water in as you lather with the boar, or try a few drops of water on the soap before starting to lather as with the badger.

Arko tends to lather and load like mad. Drizzle some warm water on top of your Arko "puck" and let it sit for a minute or two. That should soften it up a touch more. Then swirl like crazy for about a minute. Any brush should work. Make sure you are using enough water, and don't use too much and sog it out. Arko is cheap, make a few test lathers til it works. I've done enough test lathers with different soaps that I can about lather any soap I've come across now. Just takes practice and patience.

Sounds like my technique is more at issue here than anything. I do the "water on the puck" thing for hard soaps, I just didn't do that with Arko since its a tad softer. I'll try that next time. I like to face lather with Arko, so I'm going to use my badger next time. The boar brush I have still needs to be broken-in. Currently, its not very pleasant to face-lather with.

More than anything, I just need to practice lather.

I've only used Arko as a stick and I have found that any of my face brushes work exceptionally well with it.

Arko makes any brush a lather monster for me.

Arko works so well that it is ALWAYS with me when I travel as it does not care about the water (hard or soft, Arko works the same in both)

Any brush seems to work. I usually use my Simpsons Colonel, however I've gotten a great lather using the VDH Boar.

My fav brush for loading soaps at the moment is a custom 26mm TGN fan... as said above any brush will work make sure you have enough product and enough water. Mant dont put water on top of soaps beforehand but I do with good results. It doesnt need to be a lot either just a bit.

I think if you rubbed your face on the carpet that Arko would explode into a luxurious, mountainous lather.
See HERE for other information on lathering Arko.

I just put a little hot water on the arko (grated and pressed into the bowl) let that sit for a few minutes then with a hot brush I can get a good lather with anything from a boar to a silver tip.

i store my arko in a small plastic air tight tupperware container. its great as when I reuse it, it is still a bit moist. loads the brush quickly. also I make sure my badger does not have much water so it loads better.
