Has anyone tried a 'Best Brand' straight razor? I bought two off ebay not realising they were that particular make. I'm assuming their one of the crap makes...there is no makers name on the tang.
I bought a strop and had two brand new Pakistani straights thrown in for free.
The Pakistani blades has some good points and some bad points to them.
Good point= You don't have to worry about cutting yourself with them.
You also don't have to worry about ever chipping the blade on one. FACT= you can almost put a 90degree bend in a cold blade without breaking it in a vise.
Bad point= Very hard to get an edge on blade , but if you are real good with a hone and spend countless hours on it, you can get a cutting edge that can match some of the cheaper made butter knives or spoons.
