Best Boar for Face Lathering?

Hi guys I'm looking for a good quality boar brush and I'm considering either the Omega 31064 or the Semogue 1305.
I face lather so which of these do you think would be best suited? Or are there other high quality boar brushes that are better face latherers?

Thanks!

I don't own an Omega so I can't comment on it, but I've been using a 1305 for about a month now and it does a fantastic job on face lathering. I've used it with both soaps (MWF, Cella, P.160) and creams and it works equally well. To boot it's just a sharp looking brush. Can't say enough good things about this brush...pretty sure you would enjoy it.

I got a Omega 31064 and love it so much I'm thinking of using only boar brushes in the future.

It is a great brush for me as in face lathering creams.

As for Semogue brushes I ordered two #620s and I'm looking forward to trying them soon.

It depends what you want from a face lathering brush - soft with good backbone, or short and scrubby? Either way, I'd keep the choice to a small or medium size brush, something like the Semogue Owners club or 2000 tends to be on the large/fat side, and can swallow your face.

The 1305 fits the bill for size, softness and good backbone. A 620 really scrubs well. A 1460/70 is short and soft.

I've not used an Omega in years so can't comment on theirs.

I have a smaller Omega knot of the same quality as the 31064 (in a Rudy Vey handle) and it makes for a softer but appropriate face lathering brush. I really dig it, actually - but I think a 31064 might be bigger than my taste. Lots of folks love it though, so I kinda doubt you'd be disappointed unless you really hate a bigger brush.

The 1305 is said to be a less-dense 830 knot. The 830 I found to be firmer than the Omega by a good bit (yet with very soft tips after break-in). I'd lean toward the 1305 or even 830 if you want a little more density and a nice acrylic handle similar to the 31064.

+ 1 on this. I have the 1305 and can't imagine what would be better for lathering on my ugly mug (face).

There are many that are good But the Boar that I love the best is a SEMOGUE 610. It is firm for a good massage and soft tipped for pure luxurious feel. Face or Bowl Lathering it is great.

I especially like the 610 because it looks like what it is. It isn't dyed to look like a Badger. It's proud of its origins and doesn't need to emulate a cross-dresser. I think that may be why I don't reach for my 1305 as often. The 1305 is an excellent knot though.

Limited edition Semogue Cerda Classico is back in stock at Vintage Scent, this is my current favourite boar face lathering brush.
