Best Aventus tribute soap

I am new to wet shaving, or will be new too it soon (read my newbie thread I introduced myself in if you want to know what that means) and I am thinking of picking up an Aventus scented shaving soap as I know my wife likes that scent, I have found several options at different places and wanted input on which you guys think donthe best job at both shaving performance and matching tje scent. Ones I have looked at include: TOBS Royal Forest, Fine Platinum, Stirling Executive Man and Declaration Grooming Sellout, but feel free to add any others I should look out

The soap scent is not really intended to last a long time like a cologne, it is just there for your enjoyment when shaving. It makes sense to pick a soap that has the performance you like, with a fairly mild scent so it will not clash with whatever you use after shaving.

I am aware, but for one she will probably be in the area as I am shaving and smell it, and all of those brands have a matching aftershave, and some even a cologne which I would be pairing it with

Whisky

ATF. I use all three.

IMO Stirling Executive man has the base notes of Aventus down but Fine Accoutrements has the pineapple top note that the real Aventus has. Stirling offered at one point, and maybe still does, an Executive man with more pineapple in it. If I had to choose one it would be the Stirling version.

Lets see there are a bunch and YMMV
Ethos, Succes is real good
Black Tie Razor, Avenue is pretty good.
Lisa's Naturals, Success is real good.
Pheonix Artisan, Doppelganger Grey is good
Razor Rock, Emperor is real good
Saponifico Varisisino, Opuntia is real good
Shannon's Soap, All is rage is good
Wholly Kow, Belgravia is real good

There are a bunch more you can go broke getting different Aventus scented shaving soap.

During Aventus August each year I rotate through the ones I have and Stirling Executive Man and Fine Platinum always percolate back to the top, with the "winner" being whichever one I just used :p

Dang how could I forget about the great performing.

Faena, Imperial

Out of everything I mentioned I prefer the scent of Ethos Success the best. It has the best pineapple scent. Kind of like Fine Platinum Balm. I wish the Fine soap, aftershave and cologne smelled more like the balm. I wish the balm was still available.

Captains Choice Venture is very nice and close to the real thing for my nose I prefer the CC cream over their soap :)
for sure Saponificio Varesino Opuntia but the SV is my fav hard soap and so worth trying

Creed Aventus is my fav scent and have a few others they are all unique
ethos success
Fine Platinum also is a great one and the PAA in the grey forgot the exact name is another great one
the Stirling was allergic to there stuff sadly but that is me not on them :)

performance for me since I have those I mentioned
CC Cream and SV are tied for first
then Ethos success
then PAA
then Fine

I haven't tried Succes but that one will be the overall best soap of all. I dont know how close it is to the real scent. Sellout will be the darkest most muddled Aventus scent. There is also A&E Spartacus which is also a close take on Aventus but not a replica.

Also Stubble Buster Burnish, which is technically patterned after Azarro Chrome, but has the smoky pineapple scent.

Can't say I've tried all - or even most - of these but +1 for WSP's Olympus and has nobody else mentioned B&M Atomic Holiday yet?

According to lithohydrobio on Fragarnatic, Avenutus has had various formulations over the years. Which would Executive Man be closests? Should I add a tiny tiny bit of Texas on Fire to meet the tarry smokiness of the old school fragrance?

My Aventus baby book:
2010 I smell a guy at a mall wearing it. I start to look into Creed slowly. The following is what ive collected over the years:

10E02 - The genesis. Primitive. The components are ridged and stand apart from one another but only about 3 of them are noticeable to me. Pineapple, tart, some birch stand out but all over cast by a heavier patchouli than many batches. Its dry patchouli pineapple as this dries down. Like a fine but rugged spirit aged in birch barrel. Salty ambergris fixative. Still has the overall smell just sharper/herbaceous.

Unknown 2011 Batch: Working men are having a sexy muscle party around a flaming tarpit, dumping god knows what juices into it. Mainly pineapple. I want to describe this as I smelled it: Black tar smoldering, for real black TAR. like on a new street and just pineapple juice all over it , used to extinguish the flames. Finishes hoppy ambergris sweet like a delicious aventus beverage so to speak. These original batches are almost pineapple herbaceous tart they seem green to me at times. I would not say that this is for all occasions but it’s just so cool to experience. I think this is what CDNIM LE is trying to imitate but they can’t capture the full richness and quality.

13Z01 (not zz01): Sweet syrupy, not really much of smoke on this one , but instead whole pineapple plant, skin, flesh, stalk, juice and all. Smells kinda earthy but clean and juicy at the same time. Still has patchouli.

Never tried a 14

15C01 - Keep getting darker ,still kinda smoky, but now more incense than smoke. Like a dry church incense. That is not the black smoke we were used to. Also now sweeter. Here we have a star anise note, a note that Aventus 'experts' will tell you is from aging some older batches.

Unknown 2016 batch: Its like they said "lets go full on masculine pineapple" and blasted pineapple out the roof like never before. Clones start to become more abundant.

17Q11 - A candy tar mix of all of the above combined with vanilla, literally all in one color combo and sweetest thickest pineapple extract ever replicated..patchouli is the darker earther (less leafy green) type.

18D02- Apple birchtar bomb. Extremely fresh crisp apple skin opening. Not smoky tar but like very gooey thick sweet tar, apple shines here and creates the most powerful "fruity pebbles" batch possible, patchouli is back to being leafy green again, then everything at once on the dry down. A batch like no other..

19S01 -- Fresh Icy Pineapple in a drink with vanilla and cold milk. Has a platinum feel. Other notes not shining, but pineapple sticking on skin all day. Musks.

19P11 -- Holographic Pineapple, again like a pineapple dunked in platinum. A bit more airy woodiness, almost oriental? Musks to support the base.

19S21 -- Vanilla Niche Bomb, but some are weaker than others. Batch inconsistency grows. HEAVY musk in base.

19Y01N - A criticized batch that now goes for hundreds of dollars. The first to introduce a "melon (cantaloupe) note to help support some other failing qualities. Musk accord prior to "N" batch missing. Vanilla and Cantaloupe amped up. At its birth was flat and couldnt sell fast enough. Turned out to age into a interesting smoky batch reminiscent of 2010.

19Z01N - Really Dirty, Animalic profile on top of vanilla. melon, and pineapple. As if Tom Ford made aventus. Very unique batch.

20B01N - More slept on batch that aged well. Smoky and sweet.

20M01 - ever drank blueberry lemonade? berry batch. Cold vanilla and pineapple similar to 19S01 but woodier, more dry birch. Somehow has a purplish berry juice opening.

2021: Some batches were good but not enough to find which they are. Bound to be some hidden gems to this day from 2021.

2022: Kinda like 2021, perhaps worse? Havent tried many from here again some are bound to be good eventually.

2023 F Batch 00093something: airy aventus all notes showing, but not thick or juicy at all but just like smoothed and almost transparent. No thick vanilla or anything like that. But on these you can smell each note individually so that’s pretty cool. Sounds like they actually found a way to keep batches consistent for the long haul and more customers happy. Aventus lounge "nerds" havent been happy in a long time anyway, but they should goodwell know it takes 5 years to age some unsatisfactory batches anyway.

Wearing 19P11. Well aged beauty. Amazing pineapple-oakmoss-cognac meltdown!
