Beehive handle

Hi all,
I am going attempt my first custom shaving brush! Is there anyone who sells beehive handles? The beehives handles are my new weakness.

Mine too. Once the kids go off to school later this month, my fall project is to turn my own aluminum beehive handle on my father's metal lathe. Looking forward to working with my Dad on a project. The goal is to turn the brush handle on the lathe and polish it up so it looks like chrome, matching the chrome faucets, draw handles and razor stand.

Beehives are fun to make!

Contact Rudy Vey. He is a member here and can turn a beautiful beehive, custom made to your specs.

Ask him if he would sell the handle only and let you set the knot, if that is what you are asking.

+1 on Rudy Vey. He does superb work. Put a TGN Finest badger in there and enjoy your brush for years to come.
That's the plan. So what size knot would be good for face lathering and soap? I want it to have some backbone so what would be a good setting for knot?

I face lather soaps exclusively, and like the TGN finest, 23 knot, 48 loft. I have tried both fan and bulb shaped knots and like the bulb a little bit better.

TGN Finest 22mm set at 48 loft is the sweet spot. Yes indeedy. Maybe get a 2 colored handle? Ask to see what blanks he has on hand.
