Bay Rum

I've been wanting to try Bay Rum ever since I learned of it here. Does anyone one of any chain stores in the Midwest USA that carry something like this? Also, if I end up having to order online what is generally considered the best one? Thanks!

I love Captain's Choice. It's wonderful. Got a new one today, Hold Fast. It seems to be more cinnamony but I like it also.

Sally's beauty supply has Masters Bay Rum. Also check out Ogallala Bay Rum 's website. You can get 2oz bottles of their products for a dollar a piece this way you won't be stuck with a full bottle of product you don't like. They are very customer oriented.

Ogallala BR is nice. The cobalt blue bottle also looks great on the shelf. Great scent, soothes, lasts.

Havent tried the Captains Choice but most reports are +...!

Ogallala br is nice and the captain rocks. I'd buy them both or get samples of each to decide.

doctordial

my brain goes "thonk"
I like the ones everyone here has mentioned. I haven't tried the Ogallala yet,but have read good thongs about it. My first bay rum was by Royall. I really liked it and I had a girl friend who liked it on me.

My barber carries Stephans products and they make a bay rum. So you might try some local barber shops. If you can find one. Mine is one of the few "real" barbers left in my area.

Lets not forget our buddy Mr. Pinaud!
Cost effective, smells grat, and almost double the product that comes in other bottles (12 oz)

Sally Beauty has stores throughout the USA,Canada, in the UK and Mexico. I would be surprised if there is not one close to you. $10 will get you 15 Fl Oz of a decent Bay Rum.

I second the motion! I noticed at the local Sally's Beauty Supply stores in my area they only carry Master Bay Rum. I have tried it and did not care for it at all. The bay scent seems to be more like a food cooking scent than something you would put on your face. For some reason it reminds me of Indian food. Not that that's a bad thing if I'm hungry for a good meal, just not for an aftershave. The Pinaud has a nice clove and cinnamon scent that I personally like very much. It's really nice with a few drops of Pinaud Citrus Musk mingled into it as well.

Does anyone know which brand can be purchased at Walgreens?

Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum and Superior 70 are available at some Walgreens. Walgreens has a search feature on their website that will indicate which store near you carries the product.

I've got a sample of Dominica Bay Rum with Lime that I got from Garry that I've been trying to make last. As soon as it shows back up at WCS I'll be ordering a bottle.

Word is you'll have some soon enough...tracking shows both bottles arrived in Pittsburgh today...

My personal favorite is Captain's Choice Cat o' Nine Tails, which is the warmest bay rum of which I am aware. Excellent also is Capt's Choice Bay Rum, his original, less warm formulation. Both are popular here. Enjoy!

+ 148--I've been dealing with OBR for close to 7 years. Always a pleasure to get a package from them.
