For the Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders District, far south of the Pastoral districts, the Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North, Upper South East, Murrayland and Riverland.

By the Bureau of Meteorology, South Australia. This Flood Watch is a "heads up" for possible future flooding and is NOT a Flood Warning.

A low pressure system centred near Lower Eyre Peninsula will move slowly eastwards today to be centred over western Victoria on Thursday, producing areas of rain, showers and thunderstorms.

Rainfall is expected to be widespread across the south of the State with cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning until midnight Thursday reaching 15-35 mm over eastern parts of Eyre Peninsula and central and eastern parts of the agricultural areas. Falls reaching 35-65 mm are possible with thunderstorms in this area and also about the Flinders district and the far south of the pastoral districts.

Flood impact:

There is a risk of rising water levels in rivers and creeks within the flood watch area during Wednesday and Thursday morning.

People Living or working close to rivers or creeks should monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be ready to move to a safe location should flooding develop.


SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - ADELAIDE REGION

for HEAVY RAINFALL, DAMAGING WIND and LARGE HAILSTONES

For people in parts of the
Mount Barker and
Western Alexandrina council areas.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:35 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near Strathalbyn and the Sturt Highway east of Truro. They are forecast to affect Callington and Kanmantoo by 6:05 pm.
Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, damaging winds and large hailstones are likely.
A tornado has been observed near Monarto.
There has been reports of building damage at Kapunda early this afternoon.
36mm of rain was reported from Sedan Hill in under an hour.
Several locations through the Mid North and eastern districts have reported flash flooding.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
The next warning is due to be issued by 6:50 pm.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Flinders, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East and parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North and North East Pastoral districts.
