Ball End Tech, with grooved handle

Hello Gents,

My brother picked up a razor at an antique store for $5 this week.

I'm pretty sure its a Ball End Tech, but the handle is grooved. The only picture I could find online is here: http://countryjoescollectiblestuff.com/media/images4/groovetech.jpg

I'm trying to find out what year it is, I don't see a date code listed, and all my Google search skills have been unfruitful. So, I figured I would rely on you guys, the real experts!

That is the "fluted" ball end handle . . . not as common as the standard small ball handle.

If there is no date code on the razor, the approximate age of a Tech can be determined by the shape of the four openings just inboard of the bar on the guard plate. If they are a rounded rectangular shape, it would be 1946-1950. A rounded triangular shape would date it between 1939 and 1945.
