BackWoods

Not really a smoker of any kind, did try a pipe recently, corn cob, an a few different kinds of tobacco, but it didn't do it for me.
Have had some costly cigars, $15 - $20, can't say I really got off on them either.
Do enjoy some "Backwoods, Honey Berry" now and then.
I pay about $12.00, for a pack of 5,and they are quite small, so they are not cheap.
Wondering what some TRUE cigar smokers think of them, if anyone has ever tried them.
I guess a "Flavoured" cigar is frowned upon, and likely worse for your health.

Where are you that you're paying $12 for a pack of Backwoods!?! It's been a while since I bought some, but I never remember having paid that much for them.

I smoke pipes but not cigars. I think you'll find that of the over the counter/gas station brands of cigars, Backwoods will rate higher than other options among most folks. At least they're wrapped in an actual leaf.

If you like them than who care what others thinks.

That is a pretty steep price for that product, are you in the US? If you like them enough you can get a box of 40 from CigarsInternational for about $26.

You also may want to try the CAO flavors line, their hand rolled cigars infused with flavors. I do enjoy the Moontrance on occasion.

You must be in Canada or Australia to be paying that sort of price for those. I have never tried the Backwoods, but amongst the many serious cigar smokers that I hang out with, they view Backwoods in the same way that Wolfgang Puck views McDonalds.

Well the whole forum is all about who cares what most people think I am going to do it my way. If you like a cheaper cigar... who are we to say you are long, it is what you like. Some people may scoff at your choices but as your Brothers of the Leaf we are here to support you... support and enable you.

I'm am in a small city in Canada, ordering form the States, the delivery charges kill you.
Cigarplace.biz is great to order from, Cigarchief.com and Bellhopcigar.com might have something you like too and they are on our side of the border too. What city are you in?

I'm mainly a pipe smoker, but I smoke cigars occasionally. I usually go for the cheap ones, and where I'm at, I'm limited to Black & Milds, and Backwoods Honey Berry. I like them. They don't taste bad, and they smell good, which is a must when you're sharing a house.

While Backwoods Smokes are not "serious cigars", IMO they are a damn sight better than most drugstore smokes (White Owl, Phillies, Swisher, etc). At least Backwoods contain primarily tobacco--though I don't know what additives the flavored blends may contain.

I can't say they are something I typically reach for, but on a camping trip (for example) or looking for a quick something miles away from any real smoke shop, I'll smoke a Backwoods. Though I stick to the Original.

I keep meaning to tell you, if you ever make it up to Sault Ste. Marie, check out Austin's Oak downtown on Ashmun. It's a furniture shop in the front with a tobacco shop in the back. It's been many years since I've been in there, so I can't say how the selection is, but I'm pretty sure that it's the only tobacco shop in the EUP.

Backwoods is probably the best drug-store cigar there is. So take that as however much a compliment as you want. You could do alot worse, but you could do alot better. But if you like 'em, then smoke happily!

I stopped in there the last time I was in town. I had no money, so I had to leave empty-handed, but I'll be sure to return. Saw a few blends I want to try, and I like the cigar selection.
