Some smell okay, but are real watery and the lasting power non-existent.
Ages ago, I used to use Wild Country AS from Avon. Not bad stuff.
I have a bottle of Avon Wild Country that must be about 25 yrs. old. It still smells great although I havn't used it in a long while. It's a nice scent--masculine and not cheap smelling--I like it!

My wife likes the smell of Derek Jeter Driven. My favorite is the Black Suede.
My grandpa (and I) used to use it back in about 1981. I remember it was shaped like a car.
No experience with the cologne, but my wife loves the perfume. I bought her the Petal, and it's nice smelling certainly, if not earth-shattering
Some are quite good, some are quite poor but you cant beat the price of them, here in the uk anyway.
Mesmerize is actually really good for the price. I've used the Wild Country (aftershave) and it smells great, as well.
Ditto on Black Suede. I used to get it for Christmas every year. Still have a bottle of it in my cabinet.

I didn't like them much but used to love the crazy bottles they used to come in (like in the shape of cars, etc.)
Love 'em. Don't really care for their Leather one, though.
Avon RPM is one of my favorite colognes.
I also like the avon deodorants, of which I find Mesmerize and Black Suede go awesome with Pinaud Clubman
One thing to watch out for: most avon scents have a distinctive underlying scent. Its not a bad scent, but its there in most every one I've smelled. Spend enough time around it and you will easily be able to tell if your coworkers use avon too

I have used the Wild Country cologne. Nice scent....a lot like Lever 2000 soap.

Love the smell of Black Suede, it's not overpowering and has a nice subtle scent.
Another good one to try (I think it is still available): Avon Blue Rush. First sniffs are deceiving with this one. In the bottle, it has this weird chemical-grapey smell that I swear reminds me of Grape Kool-Aid. On the skin, however, it dries into a very nice masculine scent. My second choice just behind Black Suede.
An antique store in Cambridge MA had an Avon collection of Aftershaves and Colognes made like chess pieces.

Black Suede and Fereaud are two of my favorite Avon colognes. I think you can still get Black Suede. I think Fereaud has been discontinued for some time, but I have a 3/4 full bottle remaining. Fereaud has a good clean scent.
I found a full bottle of Feraud a few months back, it is just as you say, very nice. Funny, I know Black Suede is one of their more popular current ones but I've never seen it.
