Attacking Blade Sampler #2

I posted on another thread about doing another blade sampler pack. Here's what I'm sampling:

Lord Platinum Class (already sampled these)
Lord Super Chrome
Shark SS
Shark SC
7 O'Clock Yellow
Personna Labs

The first time, I just put all of the packs in a pillow case, and had SWMBO pick one, which is how I ended up trying the Lord Platinums first. Now, there are two blades in this group that are (at least according to the opinions of others here) sharper than the others. I'm wondering if I should go to one of those next, or do the grab bag thing again.

What do y'all think?

How many Lord Platinum's did you try? You probably want to use two or three before you move on to your next blade. That way you can make a sound decision on whether your face liked it or not.

I like the Labs. The Personna family has some good blades.

I tried 3, one for each of my most-used razors (flare-tip SS, red tip SS, and Slim).

I agree with you on Personna's product line. I really liked the red packs, and the Crystals were decent, as well. I'm expecting great results from the Labs based on that, but we shall see!

depends on the razor i guess, but i love those Lord plats.. they're like personna reds to me.. too bad they only last 3 shaves tops. I say try every blade there first that isn't a lab or yellow, then end with the yellow.. yellows are the best of your bunch IMO. You will need to improve your technique enough to not hurt yourself with the yellow tho.

Interesting perspective. Maybe I'll keep the Labs and Yellows to the side, and throw the rest in the grab bag. I think my technique is pretty good by now. That being said, I've done one shave with a Feather in one of my Techs. I ended up with a few weepers (where I usually have none), and some minor irritation. But it was by no means a bloodbath. I understand that the Yellows are similar in sharpness to Feathers, but are smoother.

I shave every other day, because when I get up at around 5:00AM the day after I shave, I'm still fairly smooth. But by midday, I look like I need a shave. I'd like to find a blade that'll keep me smoother for longer, maybe the Labs or Yellows are the ticket.
