ATG with a straight?

I just got my first straight in the mail this weekend a Dovo Pearlex presharpened from classishaving and got a dfs from it but was wondering if there is a technique for going ATG with one?

I find it most important to stretch the skin properly when shaving ATG.
+1

But here's the caveat: don't go ATG the first time you shave with a straight razor. Please, just don't even consider it.
I would've cut myself up. Hell, I almost cut myself up when learning to go with the grain.

Have you read the stickies?

What was said up here. I tried to keep the same angle at first but it's easier to lower the angle.

The first ATG pass will be a bit difficult but it gets easier after that.

Yes. But please don't attempt this for a week or two at least - give your hands time to accumulate a little experience first.

Awesome thanks for the tips. One other thing to be 100% clear though I do switch hands but when going ATG should use the same hand as the side of my face or Opposite?

Whichever is easier. Its probably easier to use the opposite hand to the opposite side of the face. But you can do it either way, or use just one hand. Thats the great part about a straight. No right answer!
