It looks like there is a selling war going on at Amazon between Deals for Salons and Super Safety Razors. Currently 100 Astra blades are going for $8.91 which includes shipping.

I figure you have to account for your age, the number of years you expect to live and how many blades you use per year AND then prepare for the shavepocolypse. Gillette is starting to conquer the Indonesian, European, and South American markets. Since I'm paranoid, I'm preparing for the worst.

Those Amazon sellers won't ship to Canada, and there isn't really a great price for quantities of 100 to buy here. The price
at Italian Barber is totally reasonable though --especially if the orders meet the free shipping quota.

If you can wait enough for shipping from Turkey, bestshave.net sells them about US$ 8.50 , Astras green and blue. If you spend US$ 50 or more (about 600 blades) you have free worldwide shipping.

I would be interested in buying 100 or even splitting 50 with someone in Canada. How would that work?
Pretty easy - based on trust. The amounts are so low, I can't see why anybody would burn anybody else. I could order in a bunch from Bestshave and send by Canada Post Other Letter Mail, which would be about $2.50 shipping + cost of envelope, etc.
It would take about a month all told to get them from Turkey and re-mail them. Would end up costing you about $11.50 for 100.
Any local folks could just pick them up from me in Halifax, avoiding shipping cost.
Thing is, there's an ebay vendor selling them for $12.72 BIN with free shipping

... and then figure how many sons you have ... because they'll all want to inherit dad's razorblade stash. Maybe sons-in-law too ... grandsons ...
I bought 200 from Deals for Salons when they were $9.55 per hundred shipped. I noticed two weeks later they were down to $9.01. I suspect $8.91 will be as low as they go because these businesses have to at least break-even in the short-term on their sales to survive (long term they need to make a profit).
Thanks, the war is still going on. I picked up a hundred due to all the rave reviews around here, and am quite satisfied though I am only on the second blade. These blades are quite a bargain at this point in time.
